The Waddell’s had a wonderful Christmas at home in Manassas, VA. Hard to believe, however, Christmas didn’t officially start until 9a—a first for us. Even Chelsea didn’t get up until about this time! Here are a few pictures of the family and their presents. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the new pajamas!

Our family has a proud heritage from Okinawa Japan (thus the name of our blog). It’s been very exciting to see that our children love Okinawa and are picking up on some of the cultural traditions from there.
Here below is a picture of Dee Kei playing the Okinawa Shamisen with Noriko singing.
He has taken a great interest in guitars this past year and now can claim that he plays four different types of guitars…bass, acoustic, shamisen, and the ukulele.
He’s in the band Shamrock 19 (http://www.myspace.com/shamrock19band) and plays Bass Guitar and sings backup. He does have a couple of original songs where he’s been the lead songwriter. I’ll have to post a follow-up later with these. We’re all very proud of him.

Hi guys! This is Ashley! My dad has forced me to be the blogger in my family in order to have an email address, a phone, a facebook and so on. so, this is whn my family an i went to the cherry blossom festival in our brand new car(said while raising eyebrows)! we got to spend some time as a family and it was very beautiful, although all the kids, including me, were watching a movie and not paying very much attention. But we had a great 15 minutes with each other and it was worth spending 45 minutes to get there!!
